All of these toys are made of wood which grows only in the Mexican Baja California and in the southern part of the state of California. The wood is very soft, light and long-fibered, these material properties are ideal for parakeets, cockatiels, parrots and rodents. The wood species is called Yucca Whipplei, this has nothing to do with the Yucca palm, the wood is completely non-toxic to birds and rodents, the plant belongs to the family of asparagus plants.
